Threshold is an externalisation of how living with fibromyalgia has shaped the relationship I have with my physical body. In learning to manage this condition, I have relinquished a level of control to my body, allowing it an amount of authority in my conscious decision making. This installation explores this surrender and seeks to question where I end and where I begin, considering the inseparability of the mind and body. It focuses on the investigation of external or protective membranes, such as skin and shell membranes, and other components unique to the body. In addition to the exploration of membranes, Threshold references reparative processes such as suturing and capturing stages of bruise development.
