Indigo Bones and Bloody Teeth
Summer 2023
In my dreams I am a dancer,
Gliding across a moonlit stage,
Just evading the spotlight.
I am ephemeral, light glancing off a stream,
I am weightless, a murmuration of sparrows or skylarks pulsing in the sky,
I am a constant, night to day, blood to ash, love to life.
My days never end in my dreams, I exist in an eternal hazy twilight,
The purple blue glimmering on my skin, beneath my skin
there is nothing to break my indigo bones here.
Pain stirs me, my jaw unclenches like an opening vice, dripping.
I am red when I wake.
Digital photographs, raw clay, water, milk teeth.
